Wonderland Final

 Frog Herald Textures


Card Soldier Textures


I created layers for each variation of the card soldier, numbered Ace through 10, with different heart patterns for each. I then exported each as its own base color texture.

I had some trouble rigging the frog herald, due to the buttons on his coat, but through some weight paint transfer and smoothing, I got it to an acceptable state.



I created material instances for each variation of the card soldier.

Wonderland: Sprint 5

I started this sprint by finishing the rig for the Card Soldier. Everything worked surprisingly well with automatic skinning, even the shoulder armor, which I expected to be difficult. Just some adjustments on the skirt and everything was fine. Everything is approved by Imani and she has started animating the character.


Afterwards, down to the wire, I started on our second character. I anticipated it would not be as difficult as the soldier and I've been right so far. I knocked out the sculpt for the frog herald in ZBrush, with most of his body fairly smooth and undetailed.


I then made his coat in Blender using a deformed cylinder, along with the buttons.

I have now started on retopology in Blender, almost finished with the main body.

Wonderland: Card Soldier Game Res

 

For this sprint I finished the game res model and UVs for the card soldier. Next step is rigging, then starting on the frog herald.

Wonderland: Card Soldier Final Sculpt

For this project, I continued working on the card soldier, finalizing the sculpt for the character. I created the armor in separate section, scaling and tapering until they formed the shape of the body. Ultimately, I combined the shapes until I was left with just 5 pieces, the under body, the armor, and additional pieces for the shoulders. I will now take it into Blender to retopologize.

Wonderland Part 1

 As part of the Wonderland team for Common Art, I am tasked with creating two character types for the scene in the Red Queen's throne room, the playing card soldiers and the frog heralds. The designs of the characters will be modified for this project, but when it came to the card soldiers, I liked the design so much that I decided to keep them fairly true to the live action film. I did find the original concept art for the soldiers, which is somewhat different than the final film, so I will be working off of that.


For the frogs, I wanted to make a new design, adding clothing more reminiscent of a medieval herald, and changing the species to a tree frog for a more appealing look.


In ZBrush, I created proxy versions at the appropriate scale of both characters for use in engine.
